I was there ,our Union Jack is washanging over the first tier ,,some people think the flag racist but another little firm who l used to know had one a bit more sinister it was a red flag with a white circle ,but instead of the swazstika it was the crossed hammers ,also remember the rock battle in the coach park was way worst than anything parked up near Central Park !

Was right in the corner where Frank did his little boogie.

The best of times.

charleyfarley - I was in the same carpark when them scouse wankers started throwing bricks etc from the top of the railway embankment. Saw a West Ham fan open up the boot of his car, got a fucking great iron bar out and went off to dish some retribution out!

Had Everton end tickets but by some miracle we bumped into some Everton fans who had tickets for our end and did a swap.

Seems lke yesterday Frank Lampard snr was going bananas at that corner flag near us!!

Certainly better than having to be in the away end for the semi when Forest dicked us 4 nil!

Went to both semi-final matches but Elland Road was special and I seem to recall John Lyall saying it was the best performance he had seen by one of his teams. Dev was sensational that night.

Been doing some research recently ready for the Hammers Heroes show next month and the replay shouldn't have been necessary as Paul Allen "scored" in the last minute at Villa Park but had the goal incorrectly ruled out for offside. That match was also notable for Ray Stewart pole-axing Everton's Ross with a thunderbolt shot and Tonka being involved in the nasty little skirmish which saw Brian Kidd sent off.

Interesting also that Bonzo played in both semi's but up to then had only played in the 4th round v Orient.

I am with you Pop, if I could go back to one single West Ham moment it would be when that goal went in.

From the moment the ball hit his head until it went into the bottom corner seemed like years, I remember faces of people turning to each other, and then just sheer joy.

When we were kings.

The Final was brilliant, and seeing Trevor score and Billy lifting that cup means the world. But Frankie scoring that header and the drama of extra time, wow.

Now all I want is my boy to feel like that one day. Just once.

I was there, couldn't fail to remember it, felt on cloud nine until went to pick car up at the car park which Everton fans decided to lob bricks etc; at all the cars, there was a railway embankment at the back of the car park, an amazing victory

Sadly one of the worst nights of my life .

Obviously a fantastic day and game but we parked in
The wrong place and late after the game my brother in law
Who was lagging behind as we walked back to car got jumped by Leeds yobs with wood with 6 inch nails in them .

We tried as best to get to him but carnage had been done
Leeds general , hundreds of stitches some reconstruction and had to tell my sister he wouldn't be home that night or anytime soon.

Shocking night , first time I've thought about in a long long time since seeing this thread .

I went.

It was lucky one of the blokes on our coach was a mechanic, as it broke down about fifty miles away from Leeds.

(I got a greasy face for making a flippant remark about how long it took him to get the coach going again, as he went past on the way to his seat)

A funny thing about that clip is at 5:30 when the disabled guy flicks the ball up to half volley back for a goal kick.

Our scouting team would pay £20m for those skills today.

I was there, up there with one of the greatest nights.
Fantastic atmosphere, was in the side close to half way line behind high fencing. When the final whistle went it was mayhem, I climbed the fence onto the pitch for some celebrations with players, when I went to go return back over the fence a copper went for me, trying to smash my bollocks with his truncheon, got back over and gave him the traditional wanker sign (I was 18 with a few beers in me).
I remember it all kicked off in the coach park after.

One of the great nights to be West Ham. Away from the football i'll never forget the train ride home. The luggage rack above our heads was made of a thick netting and one of our lot who was quite pissed managed to get himself up there and use it for a hammock (ish). All of us oraying that he didnt piss himself in his sleep and spray us all.

So glad to have lived thriugh those times,a culture and attitude that has gone forever.

* Terrace culture.

The FA Cup final was one of few live televised games back then getting on for 40 years ago.
It was a massive trophy to win back then. The whole country came to a standstill back then.

WoW like many on here can remember this so well. Packed in like sardines on the lower side enclosure as many have said towards the Everton supporters. Devs goal, Latchford's equaliser, Lampards goal and his 'run around the corner flag' celebration. Should never have gone to a reply I went to the first game at Aston Villa and Everton dead lucky with West Ham better team in that and certainly this second game. Happy days fantastic atmosphere that you never get now being all seated.
